New Member Introduction.
Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone. I've been lurking for a while and just had my membership activated.
I recognize a number of the names and avatars from other forums I belong to, but a bunch are new as well.
I have a '97 993 C4S that I purchased in October of '06 and I've been enjoying the hell out of it since then.

Metallic Green with Cashmere interior. Full aluminum package (sills, gauges, ebrake and shifter, motorsound, full leather, crested headrest and CD changer). I have yet to see one similar.
Need to lower it this summer and a couple of other mods.
AND THANK YOU!

Hey Stealth,
Thanks! I see your pic over at Rennlist on various threads now and then. I fell in love with the color when I first saw it.
I'm now on the hunt for a late '80s cab for the summer.

Humm, 80s cab, sounds like a good summer car! I've been trying to convince the GF that we should have a Boxter S for top down driving.
Boxster sounds like a good plan too. Unfortunately, I don't fit in them. :-)
I also like the 911 so much more. But wait a second, you said GF. Nothing to convince. Now if it was the wife maybe.

We share a house, & just about everything else, she even got the financing on the C4S for me. We are married, just not in the laws eyes, yet.
After I pay off the C4, we will get something else, that's fun & has top-down potential. I really wanted a 993 Targa, but couldn't find a good one, in my price range for a DD.

My wife is pretty easy on car stuff. As long as I pay cash and she gets two vacations a year (anywhere she wants) then I can do what I want...
The C4 was easy, I only need a very small loan, & got a better interest rate on top of it. Yes, I used to pay $$ for things also, & haven't had a car loan for over 8 years.
She likes cars, but is not, "into" cars. She is also a little more practical then I am. We almost picked up a sweet 2003 M5, with all the goodies, but 12mpg, & 90mi round trip commute made me rethink it.
Yeah, that practical thing is always getting in my way too.
As I mentioned, I'm searching for a cab for the summer. The practical side of me says to get an '89 Mercedes 560 cab. It's a great car, bullet proof, but it's much more of a touring car than a sports car.
The 911 will be much more fun.
Good call on the M5 in my opinion. They are a blast, but all that power in a four door...
