C4S Winter Advice

My 6Speed Brothers,
I daily drive a 993 C4S and simply love it. However, the car handles like sh*t in the rain as well as the snow. Currently running PS2s so that's clearly part of the problem.

Is there an acceptable winter tire that will let this all-wheel driver handle like a dream in the winter..... or should I just daily a proper SUV when the snow starts to fall?

Thanks for the advice!

I would get your alignment checked!! Mine has PS2's on it, & handles AWESOME in the rain, the PS2 is one of the best rain tires.

yea, not so good in the snow, but I was able to get around last winter with summer tires on.

Yokohama makes a good all season performance tire, it's called the S drive. The hard part is finding the rear size. Just look at all the A/S tires @ tirerack & see what you can get.

Pick of my DD, 95 C4 in the snow & ice of last year...

Hey Stealth!
Yeah, the snow kept filling in the tread on the PS2s and made the car a nightmare whenever I even tapped the brakes. Wondering if there's a killer winter tire out there... maybe something with studs in it? Be nice to daily the C4S in the winter as well....

I had a 97' C4S a couple of years ago that I used as a daily driver and when it came to winter I ended up running 17" Pirelli Snows and it handled amazingly. Being that it was my only car I had no choice, but I would be on the road in NJ passing SUV's without a problem.

All in all my favorite car and I miss her.....

PS2 in the snow is suicide! Try Dunlop M3's much more aggresive then any Pirellis. Just not sue if they come in your size.

Hi All,
Ended up grabbing an '07 Audi S4 Avant (black over black) for winter duties. Couldn't help adding another steed to the stable

Appreciate the help on this thread!

Great fast car! The real downside to a B7 S4 is the 14mpg! But it should not let you down in the winter!
