I recently got a rock chip in my 1995 cabriolet windshield and my dealer wants to charge me $1800 for a replacement. This seems outrageous to me, and I’m wondering what other owners have paid for replacement windshields.

 

Go to an independent glass shop, $600.00 tops.,cheers.

 

You may try for a place like Safelite and determine if they can fill the chip/crack.

A factory windshield should be about $1200.00 installed, that's why I call them stealers not dealers.

Call your insurance. It should cover it, sans your deductible.

 

I recently replaced my wife’s at a local Auto repair and glass shop...$800 installed...for a 98 C2S. I’m pretty sure its OME? I was able to order it with the “green tint” on the top and the antenna is embedded...as I recall from checking with the “Stealers” you can order them tinted or standard...
