http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/cars.php these guys sell a lot of 993's. should give you a bit of indication. being that he's your friend and it's a private sale i'd say a bit cheaper than what they ask on average. i'd say $48-$51 is about on point all things considered.

pretty fair price with those miles and classic color combo. if the condition is prime i'd say go for it. it's only going to appreciate if you take care of it.

those truspeed cars are way overpriced ... a 993 with 15K for 42 is OK.
For 60 you're already on a 993 turbo price. A lot of people ask 80 for them, but with patience you buy them on the 60s.

what are the factory options on the car? carfax clean? all service records?

all of these factors, and more, can drive the price higher.

one solution since the seller's a good friend is to take the car to an independent shop for a PPI. in addition to looking over the car and confirming that no major issues exist, you can probably ask them for fair market value and negotiate from there.

best of luck!

Carrera 4s... 97 model... you will pay dearly nearly 993 turbo price. Check out the production numbers on those cars on the web. combine that with the fact that the particular car you are looking at has only 15K mi. the seller can get quite a bit to the right buyer so the waiting and rejecting game happens quite often. Recently one in my area sold for 84K. I would personally buy a pristine 993 turbo. But for some reason these 4s cars have the pull. Does this car have the Aerokit II option from original?

15kmi C4S, in a good color combo, you are looking at a car in the $50's. Now if you want to spend $42 on a C4S you are looking for one around 75kmi.

They just hold their value!
