I hope I am in the correct forum. I have 1997 C4 cab.
I am having trouble with the factory alarm. How do I reset after the battery has been changed? I am always afraid to drive it because never know if the alarm is going to disable the car. I found out I cannot remove the alarm so would like to get some info on how to manage living with it. The car does not get driven much because of the alarm. That is why the battery was bad. Now I need to get it going again. Would anyone be able to tell me how to get the car started and get used to the alarm?

The alarm will auto kill the engine if you leave the key out of the car & do not activate the alarm. You do not need to do any reset after a battery change. But you should also make sure the key flob batteries are good.

What you do when the car is unlocked, you get in, put in the key, turn it to the 1 position. The alarm light in the clock will turn on, hit the key flob, the light will go out. The start the car.
