Artic Silver vs. Polar Silver

I'm looking to replace a gone but not forgotten 97 Artic Silver C4S. Beautiful car. Every option. Artic Silver with gray leather, aluminum/ carbon fiber package and factory Aero kit. I remember seeing a '96 Polar Silver Turbo years ago, but don't remember the difference in the colors. Can anyone help describe the difference between Polar Silver and Artic Silver? I'm looking for a '97 Artic Silver 993TT but I guess might consider a '96 Polar Silver.
THANKS

Thanks Luis,
I do vaugely remember the slight blue tint now that you mention it. Are the two colors still produced on newer model Porsches? It might be easier to find a new one to view the colors in person.
Thanks again.

Arctic Silver is very common on Boxsters and 996's as 90% of the silver examples were Arctic with the remaining few in GT or Meridian Silver. Arctic is still offered for new models.

polar

polar silver is not offered as an option on the new 997's, but can be ordered as a metallic paint-to-match choice. Not nearly as common as artic silver it has a very nice hint of blue, especially seen when viewed side to side with artic. I love the color.

Look at 993 Polars, not 996 polars. There is much more light blue in the 996 compared to the 993. Do a search over on Rennlist and you'll see a shipload of polars. And don't forget, Polar adds 10 hp.

In 993's Polar silver like prevously said has a shade of blue in it. I had a 96 993TT in Polar Silver and loved the color. The Artic silver as more of a hint of brown in it. I perfer the Polar.
