Dynoed my Car

I dynoed my car at Orbit Racing after I had the PSS9's installed.

K24's, GIAC stage 4, Hollow cats.

476HP to the rear wheels. So I should be at 520 to the Flywheel.

Is anyone else seeing those numbers with the GIAC? Shouldn't I be a little higher at the rear wheels.

BTW, I filmed the Dyno run, so everyone can see the numbers. Will post , as soon Evan sends it to me.

FYI: Double check those dyno numbers, because they are low... way low.

Not sure where you are getting your estimated crank hp #'s, but 476 * 1.15 = 547 hp. If you do 1.18 you would get 562 hp. I have seen very, very few cars dyno at a 9% drivetrain loss that you are indicating

That 520 number was just an estimate on my part . We ran 3 dyno pulls, and that was the best number of the pulls (476hp) to the rear wheels.

With the amount of mods that I have, where should I be????

I think 500 RWHP plu or minus a few ponies is the target range...depends on the type of dyno too...

This would be on a AWD mustang Dyno. Ken and Tony both dynoed around 500. If you were on a dynojet you should be around 520 at the rear wheels.

BTW...I thought you were running the FVD program since you went with the no cat option? No?

just a thought, but in miami right now i would expect it to be pretty hot and humid...is it not? Tough to get a good explosion with wet hot air.

I thought a Dynojet runs a little low or lower than most of the other dynos.

Your numbers are definitely low. What octane are you running? If it's 92 or higher, you should be at least 500-520 rwhp. Sounds like you have a Level III program possibly... Did they measure air-fuel during your runs?

Let us know what you find out and if you get a more aggressive program. Didn't something similar happen to someone with a GT2. I thought they had a Level IV GT package and found their numbers very low. I thought it required someone to fly out, verify the low numbers, and get a new program to bring the numbers up to where they should be.

Another interesting thing would be to find out if the dyno facility has any stored runs from other 996TT Porsches. You should see about 150 more rwhp and 150 more rwtq over a stock Porsche and about 115rwhp and 115rwtq over an X-50 Porsche. If they don't have any past history dynoing 996TTs, it may be worth it to find one locally and convince them to dyno their car (even if you have to pay for it) to get a comparison using the same dyno. Where are you located? If your program and tuning are correct, then a stock 996 TT should get around 325-330rwhp which seems VERY low.

I have the GIAC in my car. I had the FVD when it was stage 2. When I upgraded to the k24 I went with GIAC. Also, I dynoed my car last night with the GIAC (476RWHP), and I had a FVD stage 4 that I tried in my car as well...........it dynoed at 449RWHP.

BTW, the dyno is working fine. As soon as Evan sends me the Video I will post so you can see the pulls.

Here is an interesting write up on different dynos giving different results on same car.

http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0306tur_dynodash/

In town, we have a brand new Mustang. I had dynoed my 1990 on the Dynojet DOS and got around 245 hp and 243 torque. This did not have an A/F reading (which I did not realize until I got the print out) so I went to the Mustang set-up for another pull about a month later and got 258 to 260 hp and around 250 +/- 2 on the torque at the rear wheels. Conditions the two days were very similar, both low 70s and over cats type of days. I did not other modifications to the car between the two dynos.
