Spark plug change

Ok, I have just bought a new muffler to install on my car (996tt). I asked the question earlier on the board about removing the rear bumper to install new muffler, I was told it was not necessary to do so. That is great! I have been told that you need to remove rear bumper to change spark plugs. My question here is while I have muffler off will that enable me to change plugs or do the turbos and headers make this difficult being that they are still on the car. And if I have to remove bumper, would someone please give me heads up on any procedure that I may need to know to make process easier.

I second the question, how in the hell can you change the plugs on these cars?

You do not need to remove the bumper for muffler changeout. And I have heard that people have changed spark plugs without bumper removal. However, it would be a royal PITA to change out the plugs without taking the bumper off. All kinds of things are in your way and the bumper is pretty easy to get off (relatively speaking).

no probs,...... I've had spark plugs sitting on my parts shelf for weeks now and still haven't thrown them in...lol

there's also many online shop manuals you can find that may help you in other areas.....here's one of them for your records...

JWC will become famous soon enough
The mechanic that changed my plugs did not remove the bumper to install the plugs. He also did not remove the bumper to swap out my turbos later. I asked how it was and he said "it's tight but not too bad". He did have my car on his lift for both jobs.
