hi guys

hi guys just another newbie saying hi,

I have one question though is anyone aware of a blow off valve kit that exists for the gt2. I would really like a loud woosh that sounds in co ordination with the turbo, not the little silent one in place, if you have any input on this please tell me here, and pro and cons are more then welcome....

take care and see you all soon

steve

The only way you will get that sound is if you vent it to atmosphere. The existing setup is vented to intake.

If you get Protomotive to redo your intake and reprogram the ECU, you can run atmospheric BOVs.

My previous 996TT ran twin Blitz bov's and it sounded sweeeeeeeet.

I was hoping you could clear something up for me. In the SP thread about the BOV's they have available, someone said that switching to atmospheric BOV's would shorten the engine life span vs. one's that re-circulate the air. Is this true?

Tyson,
It is my understanding that Todd doesn't do it that way anymore. The system as I have described for the last year sees a glitch in the system and will close the throttle body. I think what SP has might be the closest thing that will work without error. Although I have some concern about the cars making 700HP+ blowing off properly without stall due to CPV size.

It makes absolutely zero difference to your engine either way. Your ECU simply has to be programmed specific to one or the other.
