In the days where freakin SUVs pack 500 hp, any normally aspirated air-cooled Porsche is just too damn slow.

Now if I was going to buy another Turbo.....with REAL investment potential....go with a 1994 964T 3.6......only 400 of 'em. This will be the next $100k classic Porsche.

The last original vision of the Turbo of Ferry Porsche...RWD, one big-*** laggy turbo

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha gonna do?

I have never liked the older (and well newest) headlights, the 996 lights are the best out of all of them, I cant beleive Porsche would go retro on a design that never evolved. The 997's are nice looking dont get me wrong, but the headlights (yuk).

Really??? I really like the roundish headlights of the 993/997. They look more "Porsche"

They look too Porsche for 2005-2010 car IMO. When you could have found the exact same thing on a Porsche in the 60's. Some things you keep, but some stuff has to go away eventually. I love the headlights on the 996. But the body lines of the 997 are for sure better, as the 996 is than it's predecessors. Again, IMO.

I own a 996TT and a supercharged 993. For me, hands down the 996TT is way better. It is an extention of myself on the road. I don't even like to drive the 993 anymore and it is for sale.

i too have grappled with this question. i'm a die hard 993 person. i consider it an incredible car and would never trade a 993 for a 996. however the 996tt, aside from sharing the designation, some body & interior similarities to a 996 is nothing like a 996. i do feel as the 996tt is weighted down by the "996" and that may account for some the valuation.

the 996tt is an incredible car and i'm enjoying owning one. i do like the curves of the 993tt a bit better but that's a cosmetic thing. i also like the 997tt looks above all (wheels aside).

my 2 cents...

cheers,
boris
