Best Chip?

I am looking to get a chip that will take the hp of a stock 996 tt to around 450+ with or without an exhaust. I have herd of motronic upgrades, upsolute chip, autoauthority, and GIAC but i am not quite sure what the best is, or what to look for. I would like something that wont void my warrenty i know thats in the grey area, but i dont want something that will definatly void it such as a turbo upgrade. Any website i should look at or anything that i should keep in my mind during my search would be great

thanks bill

go to Imagine Auto's website (board sponsor) and/or EVO's...They have a collaboration and sell the same packages...
What chip depends on our pwer goals...I personally tried Upsolute but then moved on to GIAC...
From your post it seems that a level 1 or 2 would suffice for you...

If that's all you ever plan on doing, I'd recommend the Upsolute.

Of course, if your wallet doesn't know the difference between $500 and $2000+ then go for the GIAC....

Warranty Issues

I had the same question. What happens to your warranty? I know some of you stress a "friendly" relationship with a dealer, but what if they turn on you if anything happens to the engine?

I am just about to buy a modded 2002 TT with a Techart Stage 1 upgrade (Intake/Chip/Exhuast) with 20+ months left on the warranty. I am seriously considering taking the modded chip out!!! On a car like this, the warranty is very important to have.

If you get the GIAC you can opt for the additional IBE chipswitch that lets you retain your stock program and switch via remote...This way the ECU remap is stealth to the dealer

What kind of info would you like? I am a little different in the world of tuners/engine builders. My company was founded from my hobby. I do all of our testing on my personal TT. I can normally help with anything you need. Not a sales pitch, just an offer for help.
