Eclipse AVN5510 Headunit

Anybody here using the Eclipse AVN5510 headunit? Debating between which headunit to get, Eclipse AVN5510 (double din) or AVN7000 (single din). Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!

Jason

My friend has the older version of the AVN5510 (I think it maybe the 5500, he bought it a year ago and it doesn't have the harddrive). It was a very nice headunit. I really liked it.

Don't go single din, go double! I think it looks so much cleaner.

I have the new AVN 5510 and let me just say it is awesome. The double din, when installed correctly, looks nearly factory. The sound quality is the best of any navigation headunit (5v pre-out, etc.). AVN 5510 handsdown best choice.

I like the double din for the same reasons mentioned by Powell and SnapScan. Its more of a clean factory look and less "gadgety."

Snapscan any chance on some pictures of your install? Did you replace any factory speakers or amps?

TXGold since we have 02s you really do not have to replace the speakers or amps unless you want to. I put my Alpine headunit from my truck into mine and it made the car sound about 100x better. The BOSE system sounds like its got real subs in the back.

Double din intergration is the best. The newer Ecplise interface looks great although I'm not familar with it. I've been using Pioneer/Alpine/Kenwood as long as I can remember... do it an post some pics!
