My black leather on the top of my dash by windshield is starting to bubble. Do I need to get an entire new piece or should I have that recovered? Anyone else have to deal with this problem???

Thanks,
BK

me 2.....same EXACT thing ..and really do not like it

From my perspective there are 2 solutions...

One change the whole part..., a lot of labor + the $$ of the part

Or may be take all that leather carefully and replace it with some thing else...like Alcantara Italy same that Porsche uses on some other parts… option that I may tray next year.

I read somewhere that if you condition the leather on the dash, that warping can happen. Something about Porsche using a special process to get all of the moisture out of the dash leather, so that the elements (eg sun) that constantly hit the dash have a minimal effect on it.

Did you guys condition your dash on a consistent basis?

Nope.
No significant amount of 'conditioning'.

All on it's own.....the leather is bubbling up......and the CF curling up......on the upside, the steering wheel seems pretty secure.

This was the exact way I have thought about fixing my bubbling too. Only issue I have run into is what glue should I use that is thin enough to be able to be used in a tiny syringe, but at the same time can be spread out. If I go this route, I want to only make one small tiny hole.

Have seen some recovers and they never quite looked right, probably want to have a new dash but in, leather ones are expensive though- pretty sure well over 1500 dollars just for the part

I am having the same problem, except it is on the steering wheel. But is injecting glue underneath the leather the best possible way in fixing it?

Im sure some shop or individual owners have had to address this issue?? Id like to avoid having to buy an entire new dash, but my warping is really bad and I need to do something eventually....

Mine too, although it is not the dash but hte rear trim behind the 1/4 glass. Not too obvious since it is in back but not too happy about it.
