I had Stephen's lightweight flywheel and performance clutch installed. I really like it. Engine revs up and down a lot faster. It reminds me of the article I read sometime back on the bennifits of the minimal rotational mass of the transmition in the CGT.

My question is this. How's the best way to launch the car in autocross and the odd red light ripper when a light weight flywheel and grabby clutch is installed??? I would like to avoid the abuse subjected to my stock clutch during the leaning curve when I first got my car.

Thanks for your input, Mike

It depends on what you want to achieve. If you want to avoid
abuse, it would be the same foe any clutch: Start off slow,
and get the clutch fully engaged at low RPMs, with your foot
off the pedal before gassing it.
For power starts, you slip the clutch at high RPMs with high
power. Light flywheels will make the car somewhat easier to
stall, so you'd need more power.

Thanks Joe. I was hoping it wouldn't simply come down to "learn to drive your car dude"!
