Mod Advice – What Tuner / Package
The infamous Yellow Cab was also onwed by S-351 who sold it and bought
a GT2. (Edit: bought a GT3 which was totalled out by a friend of his in a horrific
crash, THEN he bought his current GT2). Unfortunately, he was not able to get the Yellow GT800 to run
properly and was tired of buy MAF's by the case.
Markski above gave the best advice: Lots of good choices, drive a couple;
every city should have some. You can drive mine if you are ever in Mpls, MN.

DrBarney,
I ended up going with IA, they had a great reputation and most of all they were somewhat close just in case I needed local support. One thing I have found during my many hours of reading and personal lengthy conversations is with as many tuners as there are, allot of them use the similar if not the same parts, however many use different tuning techniques to bring it together. There are few that use unique hardware but not many.
My suggestion is don't follow what is popular or on sale, but have a clear idea of what you want to get out of your car and mods long term and then follow your gut instinct/warm fuzzies. What might be good for 1/4 mile may not be good for extended high speed runs etc...
Keep us posted with what you find and your results. I will finally get to drive my Stage 4+ turbo in a couple weeks (currently in Iraq) and will be posting my thoughts/experiences as well.
Happy hunting.

the realities of the past
It sad but true! We see so many 996 Turbo's (in particular) come in after they've been run hard and put in the stall wet...uhh, the "tuned" versions. Make that the VERY expensively, "tuned" samples.
Many of these cars stay together for short periods of time as in "engine hours". After several hours it's grenade time, THEN they're sold, original owner stops tracking the continual complaints and problems virused (?) into these once tame creatures. Eventually, NO ONE wants them! A good ECU program works well, along with "blow off" valves. After that mod, we get into issues that very few "tuners" can understand and resolve,, FOR LONG TERM USE. Even the STUPID and presumptuous air filters do nothing but eat MAF sensors, based on the oil coating. happytuning? Mark
