German Mehrwertsteuer is 16%. But surely you HAVE noticed by now that the german car manufacturers sell cars for less in the US, so it shouldn´t be THAT expensive.

Dealer called me back and they believe orders will begin to be placed in late July or August. Bottom line: they don't have a clue. I'm putting 1K as a deposit to be one of the first to order. Oweyea is down as well. I'm excited for my man Oweyea...he got a raw deal on the TT Cab he just ordered...time for some justice to be served!

After ordering, I don't expect to get the car for at least 6 months to a year. When it does come in, there will be an 03 TT coupe on sale!

Tuuner and I are both on the list but the dealer has no idea of when or what options will be available. I just hope it doesn't take freaking a year to get the car. I can't wait!

Got some new info for you guys! Just got back from dealer and apparently the S will have fenders like on the GT2 which are 1.5 inches wider than the Turbo. Its also supposed to have a slightly different suspension and a lower front end.

Oh he also said NO 997 Turbo for what thats worth

Well it may not be reliable, but you never know with Porsche. The same salesman has a certin reputation at the dealership that alludes to a lack of realiability. He also told me his "friend" put a GT3 RS motor with 500+ hp in a Boxster. He told the stock hp on a GT3 RS is 470 and I believe its around 381.

I just thought it might be a little something to hope for.

On another note though the Porsche Rep said that information and allocations should be sent in june/july and august or september deliverys apparently!

Turbo S - Quandary

Reliable and accurate information on the Turbo S is either unavailable or is being kept a secret by Porsche or perhaps PCNA.

What is interesting is that the official Porsche European websites discuss the Turbo S and state that dealers around the world will have them available this August. So far, I have not found a US dealer that has a Turbo S allocation through the end of this year.

Thus, it appears that noone but Porsche really knows when the S will cross the pond and when we will have the opportunity to buy. So like some of the other Boarders, I need to make a decision - do I take my '04 tt cab due in July or August or wait for the S?

ttgangsta, 997 turbo will be here 2007- that's what most magazines say. I, too, think PCNA dealers do that to move out their current inventory. Give it a month, and we will see what reallu goes on w/ S.

Robert,

I think you should dump 04 and get 05. Resale value alone justfies that. I've seen many people have done that already. But the problem is that you will miss this summer and by next one, there will be 997's around. Check your PM.
