Anyone driven a 2002+ NSX?

So i'm still debating what car to lease as a daily driver and i just came across this deal on the NSX. It is 999 down and 799/month.

That's a smokin good deal. Obviously it is because the car is basically 12 years old and due for a restyling, but at that price it definitely deserves consideration. Has anyone driven one of these things? What can you tell me?

Thanks,
Steve

A little weak in terms of power but with some basic suspension mods they handle like a go kart.

Go for it! 290 HP doesn't sound like much, but go test drive it. It's quicker than most people expect, and the handling and drive are great!

It's a great car for the money. It is much faster than people realize, although certianly not near a 996TT. You would definitley want to lower the suspension and change the exhaust. Also, try to see what you could buy it for, then get lease price quotes through leasecompare.com.

Steve,

I have owned an NSX for 5 years now...probably the most reliable car I have owned period (well, except for the Turbo !)...

People say its dated..but the look never gets old, and the car is bulletproof....The exhaust note is one of the best...

I did a comptech suspension, wheels, headers and exhaust...

I have an RM Racing intake...

My advice to you would be DO IT ! You won;t regret it and will own an instant classic....Its one car I will not sell...

I still think the car is great looking - especially in this color combo!

Forgot to mention . . . you can have the dealer add a Comptech superchargerfor a total of about 8K. The car would go like stink and still be covered by warranty (not that anything would ever go wrong with it).

BTW, I had a '98 NSX and loved it. Saved my *** too, when an old lady turned in front of me and I T-boned her and totaled the car.

You can find a lot of info on NSX on the NSXPrime website.

Still turns heads although many people mistake it for a Ferrari which I think is a good thing.

Straight line speed it can't keep up, but more than makes up for it with better feel and balance. Feels much more tossable and the sound of the engine is pretty amazing.

Hey Darren,

Mine is a 2001 Yellow/Black with yellow piping....has a Lotus Red race ECU, straight pipes, K&N...probably close to 450 hp...

I grew up in England, so naturally a Lotus fan growing up....turns heads everywhere it goes, and handles very well...Would have a tough time parting with that one too !

I flushed a 10 square sub in the right passenger footwell...with amp, the sound is pretty amazing. As long as you don;t let the timing belt service lapse and break a belt, these cars are very easy to self maintain...Weak point it probably the renault sourced gearbox...but I hear an upgrade kit will be available soon. The engine is good for 550-600hp in race trim if the tranny could handle it.

I had a nsx and loved it. Great car all around, turned way more heads than my turbo and it had a very cool cockpit.

Rufmd, nice Lotus, it must be pretty fast with the race ecu installed. I almost bought one but got the turbo instead. Eventually I will get one...
