My Year End 60-130 runs: Improvement!
A few weeks ago at an undisclosed location, myself and S-351 (GT2 with
Speed Gallery 650/700 kit) went out and ran some 60-130 mph runs:
My best run was 6.39 even though I am experiencing some weird
"lag problem".
. I have talked to several other K24/18g owners and I
am the only one struggling currently. I do not know if it is because
I screwed around with my boost controller so much or what but I
am not at full boost at 60 mph wheras John D is at full tilt boogy at
60 mph. This made my runs quite tricky and the lag could be seen
in the long g's right after a shift.
S-351 ran a 6.62 (and had a 5.6 run that was invalid).
All was going well until I lost the Satellite reciever cable on my last run
and then on my way home I was questioned by the local authorities about
some high speed runs?????
We now have snow so all I can do is wait for spring and the Texas Events...

You need to try the Ohio GT2 tune or something like it...Do you have any plans to upload a new file and see if it eliminates the lag you are experiencing?
BTW - 6.39 doesn't sound like you have a lag problem...

I will take you up on that. I started playing around with the settings and had

I have been lectured twice this year (pulled over without the Police actually seeing
me do anything). On one of the stops I had the video camera on (mounted to my roll

if you have a boost gauge its great, but if not, then you will have to feel it and look at the profecs boost gauge...... ok!!!!
ok there are 2 diff set ups I've run and the "1st" seems to be the more dependable one ok?....
the second one is if you master the 1st!! lol...but it will get yu more power, but very tricky to get it to work perfect and "IT Will" be afected by temp, humidity everything!!...
the colour of your underwear everything!!....lol...so that is for advanced class..>!!!!
ok here goes!!
1st screen...
this one I have set at 29 most of the time.... but if I notice my car losing boost on top end (higher RPMS),
or simply not very responsive...laggy..
I go to 30.... or if i got some jerk monkey that needs a lesson taught, next to me ... !! lol...
this screen will balance your boost.... ok..!!
if you are (dropping/gaining) " boost "
climbing in the RPMS...
or
better said... IF YOU SPIKE or reverse effect.. your boost goes limp... then you adjust this number ok!!
this is something you have to moniter, it is only to be played with to raise or lower the "boost level" once engaged...!!! NOT TO be used to raise or lower " ACTUAL " boost!!! KEY HERE Is to level out the boost curve... kinda thing ok!!!
2nd screen
I have 0.00.....
( advanced class stuff!!! lol... )
this is the initial boost screen.... its where the controller would naturally start doing "what it does" with the wastegates but..since your cranked the first screen to maximize itself...this one cancels out.. (dont ask....just trust me....leave at 0.00) we'll fiddle with it after on other lesson....lol....
3rd screen
is the boost max.. I have this one set at 1.24... here is where you cap out your controller...in other words...if your car hits "this" boost
(actually reading boost) then it will show a red screen on display......( yu should be about 2 points higher than desired boost.. if you want 1.24 then set at 1.26...it will kinda stop climbing boost BUT....not really!!!!!!!!!.
which brings us to the next screen!
4th screen-
shows us how much boost we want to drop in case we hit the max boost set by ourselves!!

so I have this set at 0.... coz i never hit it,,,and by the time i have hit it, Im usually off throttle coz my AFR reading went bullistic!!... however on high boost different story...ill drop by 2 points.... just in case....
OH yeah AFR GAUGE HELPS LARGE!! lol....
5th screen-
you can choose to turn on
"reading the last boost"
on your display and then you are done!!!!
the only thing left is the
"DIAL" "****"
all the way on right!!!
this little guy is how we start to creep up on boost... you will shocked to know that summer I had "IT" at 51
or so... Now same power and IM AT only
31 !!!
this is coz the cold weather, air density etc etc...
so try to start at "35", (crank clock/counter wise till you hit "it"..
start going up on a 3rd gear pull, and watch your boost! it should maintain its number quite effectively till redline at
(29 (1st screen) remember!!!)
if not just go to 30(1st screen)....
then dial the **** higher or lower till you hit your 1.24 or whatever you want...
lesson 2 comes once you get this down !!
understand why you are "dialing in" things... try to have first screen low and then high and see the car react... you'll be xtatic to learn this coz next time you are runin lazy, you can manipulate your car to get what you want!! remember we are turbo power!!!
TEMPs and humidity... gas everything affects...!! let me know how it goes!!!
