I've let friends take the car for a rip and they come back shaking their heads, saying "the car hauls but I stalled like three times...something is wrong with your clutch, the whole car shakes as you move off."

Am I alone here? Is there an alternative? Or is this the compromise of having 700+ horsepower (which ultimately is totally worth it!)??

Hey VB, I know what you mean.. we changed over to the GT2 style set up and now everything is easy peasey! Muuuuch better.

Thanks guys for your input!

Alex, if you can confirm that the clutch is easier and the shuddering is gone/reduced, I'll give you a jingle and you may need to send up that little Christmas Basket of goodies.

That would make the car an absolute joy all-round.

Well.. no 700hp capable clutch I know of is "easy" They're all going to be pretty grabby etc... There's some give and take as you'd expect but it's just that I _hate_ the hydraulic assisted one we have in the 996tt. There's just no feel to it. It takes quite a bit more effort to push the pedal but there's some "feel" to the engagement and I find it easier to modulate. Drop James an Email as he can explain it better than I can etc...

The Tilton Triple carbon which we typically use in high end applications drives like a dream, they have been used in daily drivers for cars at about 15k miles a year and in high horsepower street cars that are just weekend use with great sucess by us and many others in Supra's, Evo's, Vipers and the like. We are awaiting the first unit that will go in Onelove's car any time now. We will keep you guys up to date and I'm sure Wes will let you take the car around the corner for a spin if you want to feel how they drive.

I agree, clutches are a pain when going high HP and we've dealt with over a dozen manufactures on clutches to get the right combo's. We think we're onto something here and can't wait to test it.

I had a carbonetic Clutch for Onelove's car. Its suppose to hold 800hp or so to the wheels on the triple carbon. The Carbonetic/ATS clutch is carbon on steel where the Tilton is carbon on carbon that is the price difference and why 1 clutch will be rated at much higher horsepower then the other.

I know Jamie Carter had a Carbonetic in his car, he seemed to like it but did say it chattered some. He's a good one to ask as he has had Supra's with the Tilton Triple carbon to compare.
