reliable headers
reliable headers
I am about to pick up some headers (Agency power 321stainless steel headers) for a pretty good deal... are these reliable/trusted in the Porsche world? I want to modify my car, but if I'm going to modify the car, I want to do it right the first time around. Any opinions would be appreciated!!!
I think you may get the same results with the stock ones. What you do is port them and then ceramic coat the outside. I know when one starts to mod the car , changing turbos you need new headers anyways so buying some now unless you wont change the turbos could be a waste of money.I say do a flash first and exhaust.
you won't need to change headers with most of the more common turbo upgrades....not until you start making REAL power. That said.....I haven't bought headers because I don't believe I will see enough of an increase....You won't really feel it....
recommendations?
thanks for the info... I'm in northern California... any tuners that you guys recommend for flash? again, thank you all for your input.

that is best bang for the buck award!!
You may be able to find a set of used headers. I got Evo K24 headers from DrewTT for $500. I haven't installed them yet but I was at my shop (Protosport) this weekend and Paul was actually impressed with the fit and finish. His thought is that at very least it could/probably does help with Turbo lag due to the design of the merge collectors. He showed me how if you blow air through one port towards the merge collector and put paper covering the other two ports it actually helps pull air from the other ports and holds the paper in place due to the air pressure created. He told me if you tried this with a stock header that the paper will just fall off... Paul thinks they probably do help make some power but how much is the question.... if you can get them for a steal of a deal they may just be worth checking out. I don't know if I would have paid the $1800+ for new ones. But since I got them "cheap" (around the same price to P/P stock headers) I figured I'd give them a shot.
I should have them installed in a week or two so I'll give you my impressions then...

Well,
the same new 996TT K24 headers, with a slightly longer primary tube design and a really smoother flow pyramid merge collector, no a simple tube, is the one that makes power and torque on the 997TT form Stage 2 to Stage 3 ~ 17 HP and ~ 20 lb/ft TQ with the addition.

I got mine last year on sale for $ 1,200 new
