We Did It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crash,
The original question was a Murci vs a GT2. According tor R&T Mag. the Murci performs a 12.0 @ 121.0 mph. The GT2 performs a 11.9 @ 120.6 mph.
Now which one is really faster in a straight line?
In the slalom the Murci attains 65.7 mph and the GT2 attains 68.7. The GT2 is far and away a better handling car.
The new ZO6's record about the same acceleration as the two above. Given a car length is about about a tenth of a second, fifteen car lenghts equals about one and a half seconds. If I was to believe everything I have heard out allans 500 hp SV then he should have no trouble turning a 10.5 to 10.6 second quarter.
I guess my question is do you believe it?

Crash,
With the KA motor, yes. However, not by a full second if allan could in fact pull a 10.5. In the up coming shootout the maximum displacement allowed is 3.6 L. In addition, no internal mods where the case is broken or the heads removed are allowed. We are currently re installing the stock internals engine for the shootout.

Well, good luck with the shootout man, I hope I get to see your beast someday.

From what I have heard about the other entries, the field should be pretty level. The state of the art regarding 996tt's with stock internals has leveled off between approx. 600 and 680 rwhp. The winner in my opinion won't necessarily be the most powerful engine but the best all around prepared car.
Ok Cjv, i thought you were a knowledgeable car guy, but i guess I was wrong. First lets start with your chosen roadtest, by Road and Track. It is clearly stated that in both the track tests, and the acceleration tests, the track for the Murcielago was very slippery and dusty, which hindered its times. But, i do have a question for you, what does it mean when 1 car goes through the traps at say 11.00 @ 120mph, and another goes through at say 12.00 @ 121? Which is really the quicker car? Even in that crummy road test, the Murcielago has a higher mph, meaning that what? Good boy, Cjv, its catching the GT2.
Since you have your road tests, i decided to pay www.motortrend.com a visit and get you a few of my own.
Lets see:
Porsche GT2
0-60 in 3.77 sec
0-100=8.91
1/4= 12.09 @ 119.9
Slalom=68.3
Lets try a Diablo:
0-60=3.4 sec
0-100=8.4
1/4= 11.8@120.9
slalom=70.00mph
Murcielago you want? ok
0-60=3.5
0-100=8.41
1/4=11.72@123 ?
Is that good for you? I cant believe youd say that a faster slalom speed meant better handling. Do you know a Murcielago E-gear recently ran a 7.43 Nurburgring time?
Im sure your car is fast. It may even beat mine. On a track, im sure it would. In a straightline, with me on Nitrous, i dont think so, but even if you could, big deal. My car has very little in mods. Let me drop 200k into mine.

You stated, "In a stright line, with me on Nitrous, i don't think so.
What makes you believe Killer Angel doesn't also use nitrous?

Allan,
It is a two stage, 125 shot each stage, programmer/pill controlled NOS system on top of a 700+ rwhp 4.0 L power plant without nitrous being activated.
You might say Killer Angel is a real 996.
What does the R/T tests show? It shows the GT2 and the lambo murci are extremely close in acceleration.
Regarding what anyone spends on their car, all is fair in love and war. Spend whatever you chose and then give me a call. Even if you pull it off, it won't be a first. I have admitted to being beat twice now. It's really not a big deal.
By the way, how much nitrous are you running? We have one lambo locally who is running a 150 shot NOS system.
997GT2,
I apologize for getting carried away with your thread.

Nice nitrous setup. Maybe youd win, Maybe you wouldnt.I can always go 200shot. What kind of Mph are you getting the 1/4?
When push comes to shove, anyone with a 97 Viper can bolt on Supercharger+ nitrous and blow both you and me away.
