On the fence about getting a Turbo Aerokit.

I am not sure what to do.

I'm thinking about getting a factory turbo aerokit for my 03.

I am not sure if I should do it.

Any opinions?

I won't do it if it requires any painting of the existing body panels and the car must be able to go back to stock.

My car is black, FYI.

If you like "conservative" looks then I think the areokit is a great look....My car used to be an areokit car and I loved it, but then decided to go the far out agressive route and it no longer fit that description... As for painting....you do not HAVE to paint any existing parts...its easier if you just paint the stock side skirts as they are the same, however if required you could purchase another set of skirts and have them painted....
Here are a couple pics of when I had the areokit...

Its really a poersonal preference... personally, I dont like the Aero Kit, but if you do, you should go for it... (but back to your question, to get the full aero kit look, you will have to paint your existing side rockers I believe)

Aero Kit

AMG ETR Do you still have your aero kit. I have a yellow TT as well and would be interested in buying your old parts if you still have them.

Except for the tail, the aerokit is basically a waste on a black car IMO. The existing sides are already black plastic, ditto the lip with just an angle change. For a significant, easy to change and probably less expensive effect, why not go with a wing that can be put on the top level of the rear spoiler. I believe Ruf, TA and 9ff have decent ones and probably some others. Then, all you have to do is have the new one painted and screw it on.

The only thing I still have is the front lip (and whole front bumper for that matter), however it has a crack on one of the corners... If you want it I would sell it for $250+shipping... I have been quoted $200-$250 to fix it and paint it, so you would have it around $500 when its all said and done (better than $900 unpainted new)...
Up to you...if no1 buys it within the next 2 months I am throwing it out (along with the front bumper and stock hood)...
