UV, and heat repulsion. The newer ceramic tint is supposed to do the best job at both tasks and that's what I have. Won't know how good until wx warms next year.

At night when I am stopped at a traffic light I scan my mirrors for potential car jackers. If I ever saw a threat, it would give me more time to draw my heater without anyone seeing what I am doing. Who knows, the tinting may even discourage jackers. There have been several car jackings in my area and other suburban areas of Atlanta in the recent years. The outcome for the car occupants is usually grim.

Why do people tint their windows in their cars?

Even more so when you have an amazing car like the 996TT, why do people tint the windows? Don't you want people to see you driving it? I for one... do and really don't like tinted windows, and don't get it...

Chime in, id like to have this question answered
Ever been to Scottsdale? UV protection!! A must have in the desert.

I like it when its a little bit darker inside during the day... my eyes are sensetive to light. Plus it makes the car look sick. I dont really care if people see its me.
