A couple of notes with JICs

This is mostly for KPV and ViperTestarossa but the same goes for anyone considering JICs... So if like me you want to lower the ride hight considerably be sure to _remove_ the sway bar end link piece/spacer from the kit BEFORE you mount the strut. Otherwise like me you'll be yanking it out afterwards. With the piece in place you can only lower the car about 1.5 inches. I dropped mine a good 2.5+inches after having taken out those lil' buggers.

I'm still a little bummed about the lack of accessability to the camber plates themselves for adjustment. It's not JICs fault as it's more the 996's chasis design than anything else. It's kind of odd that there's a plug precisely made for access down there but the fact that it's only a couple of inches wide in terms of diamater is strange.

I'm still trying to get figures on the FVD dampening vs the JIC/Cross dampening because on both of their stiffest settings when pushing down on the strut they were pretty close and the FVD PSS9 actually felt a tad bit stiffer (?), which doesn't jive with what I've hard.

And one more thing. WTF were Bilstein thinking. The placement of the bump stop is so darn high on their set up. The JICs, I had to compress all the way down in order to hit them......

Ken you are so right. Anyone that lowers the car more than an inch, I garantuee that they are riding on the bump stops. Not good.

Oh no doubt Xico's Moton's are going to be the ****... Can't wait to hear. I know Bob's car has the moton club sport set up in his 993TT and it kicks some *** on the track. I just figure 7k or so was a bit steep in comparison to these so I went with JICs. Figured I'd give 'em a go.

I think the JICs are going to end up being a more affordable easy-to-install alternative to the Motons/JRZs for people that weren't too happy with PSS9s. There's no doubt in my mind that well set up Moton CS with the right springs will run rings around the JICs....

Sharky, so what settings are you on right now? It's a pain to adjust the settings on the rears for the 993s as you have to take the intercooler, airbox etc off.

I have the JIC's also and love them..Having the 15 way adjustability is great. I track the car a lot so being able to adjust at the track helps. I run it soft on the street like 8/6 front to rear but run it at 6/3 or 5/3 on the track, keeping the front softer helps dial out the understeer. Also once you have the front camber plates dialed in and have the toe set you can dial in more negative camber up front by either loosening the 4 allen bolts on the camber plate with the notches or if time is important loosen the three bolts on the tower and slide the whole assy. inward like i do and use a camber guage to measure the front wheels side to side and then tighten the three bolts down and it has worked every time at the track and takes about 5-10 minutes total to adjust the camber and then you can dial it back for the drive home from the track..I think there the best for 3k.

Refresh my memory, 1 is stiffest or softest? I seem to remember it's opposite to the PSS9s.

IIRC 1 is softest and 15 is hardest.

Just an FYI for Ken and the suspension gang:

I took a quick peak before leaving today and measured from the front lip of the GT2 front. 2 1/4 inches off of the ground. I'll get proper measurements later but it's slammed
