what made u pick your TT/GT2 over a ferrari?
"...but most important, it doesn't draw a crowd (or the incessant stares that others seem to want)."
it's amazing that this is so very valuable to some (me) and so very value reducing to others, but it is.

children fit well in the back, and in a pinch, adults can do it, as opposed to no option in any two seater. But really, the back seat is such a small part of the wave of why I chose what I chose. I really like the 360 F1 coupe and came very close to one with the rare option of an oversized removable sun roof. I just couldn't rationalize the $ over MSRP for a car with 1500 miles on it. Plus, any time I needed work on the car, the dealership for Porsche would have to flat bed the car to their sister dealer 3 hours away that housed the F mechanic. So if you combine the "out of the box" X-50 TT new to an older, more expensive not as quick used car...it seemed like the right choice for ME. I don't think I would feel as comfortable tracking the F car as I do the P car. Since my decision, I may revisit the F360 when $ drop again for the newer model, but I honestly doubt I will move on it. And as you can see, my experience with Porsche has been so wonderful, that I added another as a daily driver, the Cayenne S! I really did not like what Ferrari had to offer in a racing tow vehicle

I own both. Around town I'd take a Ferrari any day. Driving across country, the Porsche is a much better car.
Like Jack, no problems with the three Ferrari's I have owned. Both of my Porsches are in for warranty service all the time...

so how are all of you people so RICH to be throwing around $200k for cars.. what do you all do, sell crack or what?

i bought two porsches new (996 C2 Cab and 996 TT) and two ferraris used (355 Spider and 550 Maranello).
owned the 996TT and 355 Spider each for 18 months and the 996TT (under warranty) cost me more in service than the 355 (not under warranty).
none of the four cars had/have ever stranded me or failed me on any trip.
in the end, i grew tired of AWD and e-gas and turbo lag on the 996TT.
i'm sans p-car right now, but i could easily see getting into a 996 GT3. or maybe an early 993 coupe, stripped down and tuned up....
doody.

Never owned a Ferrari. Every time I have an itch for a new car I stop by Ferrari. Never been treated bad by Ferrari salemen. They were as friendly as can be.
I find Mercedes to be the worst.
My TT Cab has given me tons of problems. It has been at Porsche six or seven times now. Twice it had to be towed in.
I have a friend in Germany with a 360, he has 65,000 KM on it and has had no issues. He tells me that the F1 tranny gives some of his buddies problems but his 6 speed is fine.
It seems to me like Ferrari is on the way up and Porsche is on the way down in terms of reliability.
