Gemballa Aerodynamics.

What are your experiences with Gemballa aerodynamics pieces especially the front spoilers and 993-look hoods with regard to fit and finish.

I had the Gemballa lip put on - fit was perfect and, when painted, was a perfect match.

Even though I just spoke to you on the phone I will post in case anyone else is interested....
I have the Gemballa GTR front bumper and the Gemballa GTR Carbon/Kevlar Vented Hood (993 Style). My rear bumper is "Gemballa Style" I couldn't justify the $3,000 Gemballa charges for a modified OEM rear bumper so I did it myself
Quality:Very good quality. Both the hood and bumper are solid and were in great condition when they arrived.
Fit:The bumper was...dare I say... factory fit. I don't think I have seen a bumper fit as well as the Gemballa GTR fit... The seams lined up perfect and the side markers fit perfect. It was much better than the Techart Type II fit on my car... The hood is a different story. It takes A LOT of work to fit to the car, and even after this work it will not be perfect. The major problem with the hood is it sits high over the fenders. To help this my shop trimed my hinges down a bit which allowed the hood to sit flush with the fenders. The next problem is that because it is carbon/kevlar and not a metal the hood is a bit "twisted". You really can't correct this. The only thing effected by this is that one of the corners in the front sits a tiny bit higher than the bumper (see right corner in picture below).
Price:A bit high compared to other company's. The GTR front bumper retails at just under $6,000 and the hood retails at $2695. I am a true believer in you get what you pay for and the quality of the front bumper does reflect in its price....
A few pics with the setup:

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!!
Evan
PS-We sell all these parts and have most Gemballa parts in stock in Germany
PPS-I feel like Ken (KPV) typing such a long post

Heya Evan,

Just seems impossible in terms of finding any kind of light weight hood that actually fits properly

I have heard of many problems with the hood but it is good to know that the spoilers fit well. Too bad about the price... that is quite steep.

Yea I know,
When I first put this hood on my car before it was fit or painted I was ready to take it off and ship it back... My body shop finally convinced me to keep it and that they would make it fit... I was soo worried I checked in with them every day of the week for the week and a half it took them to see how it was coming... I am very happy with end result. You barely notice the corner...
A couple pics from the day I got it:

Yes everything else I have seen from them fits very good its just the carbon/kevlar hood (expected because is a weave material). And yes the price is high...

$6K...WOW....I would go for the GT2 bumper at that price. The Gemballa looks nice but that price is crazy. I think if it were half that, I would do it. Then again, to me it's really hard to top the stock look too.
