TURBOS!!! Garrett or k's

Which is the best option for a turbo upgrade buy Garretts or go for k24;s? at the minute my car has Milltek Exhaust with 100cell cats, schnell Headers, Hyperboost Diverter valves (Still to Fit) AND ecu flash to 1Bar!!! is it true that you have to modify flanges on exhaust to fit Garretts?? Help would be appreciated Guys???

Depends on your long term goals and power requrements. An off the shelf Garrett will need to be modified although I believe there are some Garrett/K24 Hybrids out there that will bolt straight up to the stock flanges....

I would go with the modified K24/18G setup. It's good for up to 700+ HP and is the best deal around. Especially if you already have K24s.

I've got a Stage 4 kit from Imagine Auto/EVOMS which produces 600+ HP. I am using the K16/24 turbos which are hardly any "laggier" than the stock K16's. Since you already have several of the components in a Stage 4 kit, the overall cost would not be too expensive. The transformation from stock to Stage 4 is amazing in terms of performance...you won't be disappointed!!

I think the you can get the 24/18 for the same price as the smaller turbos and the program will be the same if you go to Protomotive/Vivid Racing

You have a few options.... K16/24, K24/18G, custom UWM Turbos, etc...
The garretts off the shelf require a LOT of work... plus programming... Vivid is offering a decent package but m not sure its a straight up Garrett... it may be stuffed into a KKK housing...
K16/24 are non exclusive... many tuners deal these... K24/18gs are protomotive tuned only... Zero clearance stage 2s are I think k16/24 are specific to UWM as well.
You have many options...

Love the Garretts. when it boils down to shear volume and power, nothing beats 'em.,cheers, Sonny.

If you buy your turbos from Imagine Auto or EVOMS, there isn't much work to be done since they machine the garrett turbo inside of a KKK housing. Doing this allows the turbo to fit like OEM, but be a much more powerful design.
