Brembo GTR brake kit and stock wheels?

I remember someone offering the Brembo GTR brake kits for sale saying that stock 18 inch turbo wheels fit ove them. Well I tried doing that earlier this week.

See the gap? That's as close as I could get it to line up...

You can see from the three pictures that I coulodn't even mount the wheel. I had to force it on and it wouldn't even let me insert a lug nut. And as far as the wheel actually being able to turn, you can see it's going nowhere thanks to the caliper. Just wondering if anyone that has recently bought this set has actually been able to mount 18 inch stock wheels?

I figured since stock 18s and in fact only _custom made_ 18s fit over the fronts, I decided figured I'd my new 19 inch wheels instead:

Since there's no way in hell I can use my spare wheel to fit over these, perhaps I should use this one instead

That was me and another 6speeder (can't remember who). After we installed our GTR kit, the first thing we did was mount the stock wheels.

Sharkster, IIRC there was some earlier kits that were sold that had the incorrect front brackets. This would cause contact. I would call the supplier and verify part #'s. This may be your problem.

If I find the time today, I will mount a wheel and take pictures. This was one of the biggest reasons why we chose to go with this kit.

Hi Mike, if you could that'd be great! So essentially it's the bracket that would allow this to happen? It just looks like the caliper is too long? I'll ask them about it then. I did have one of the first two kits sold in the US so...

I miss the Essex Ladies jokes, remember that??? In fact, I miss the ladies more than I miss the jokes

Alex,
if, i mean if i remember right, the hollow spoke 18'' has difference inner design than non-hollow (GT2 wheel) spoke. the hollow is about 1'' smaller in comparsion. will that be the difference? look like to me.

Mike,
did u guys try hollow or non-hollow?

You don't have GT3R calipers if the stock wheels fit. They are far two wide to fit with standard offsets. These calipers are about 3K apiece. In addition, the front calipers are six huge pistons while the rears are four piston.
