Any1 have over 30K miles on stock internals wih GT700?
would also include the type of driving being done with the car to evaluate durability.
someone who goes with the kit and then just street drives is one thing vs the guy going to the drag strip or race track once a month

Me, I have over 35K KM's on my GT700, but as Tom say's I do not drag or track my car but she see's lots of high speed stuff on the mountain highway's up here. These GT700 cars are good for 100K on stock internals so long as you don't drag or track the car regularly.
yea you would have to find out total miles and also how hard people drive including track events or drag strip. i think the road course in general puts the most wear on the car if anything. although most people that take the car to the roadcoarse tend to take great care of their cars. i still think that your at WOT/close to redline for 25 mins continuously x 4 sessions or 8 if its a 2 day event. i think thats way more strain on the engine/car then at the drag strip.
if anything, IMO at the drag strip you are flooring the car for 11 seconds, tops 4-5 times per night. thats just like spirited driving. only thing that takes a huge hit on wear and tear is the tranny/clutch at the drag strip.
i personally wouldn't add any significant horsepower upgrades to my car without the minimum of internals upgrades. if i do upgrade fuel system which would put me over 700ish, without doing internals, i do understand that the risk of failure underneath the hood is greater.

From what I have read if something does happen the rods will just bend. I dont think I have ever heard of rods shooting out the block or motors "blown up." I think as long as your running high quality race gas and the car is tuned well it should last.

crank broke and case cracked. total loss. So hope no one on here is fooling themselves!!
Did you ever find the root cause of the failure? Do you think your crank broke because of the power you were making or ...?
i have 26k miles on the GT700 w/ upgraded internals. no track or strip; mostly 4th-5th gear pulls on the highway. most of the time it's on 100/race mode but it does see 91 mode (with 91) here and there.
motors can go - the reason i have a GT700 is that my previous motor (stock internals) let go on a 600hp kit. don't kid yourself - it's a time bomb waiting to happen - bad gas, slipped hose causing a boost spike, or who knows what else can end up in kaboom. spend the extra $10k and get the internals beefed up - do it right the first time.
