sorry to hear about it...but man...you are very lucky the cop let you off.
Total misinformation.

It's either 23103 or 22348b, neither is felony.

I suggest you invest in a radar dector (V1) because it'll save you a lot. I did a pulled over a few years back in Barstow going 100, but got to go to traffic school and paid about $450 in fines.

I got a ticket at 108 here in PA. I got a lawyer and had it pled down to 15 over and a reduction to 3 points. That was the best I could hope for, but I was given a rash of **** by the judge.
You need to get a lawyer, no matter what.

The 241 is a hard one not to open her up on. Don't blame you. Good luck in court!

FYI for non OC people.

The 241 is a private toll road with very little traffic and has an autobahn feel to it. One can easily do 120MPH without any danger to others.

I believe since you were on the 241 and if you get a good lawyer (I can intro you to a few), you should be able to get out of this for under $3000 (lawyer and fines).

Keep us posted and let’s see if I am right.

I live in Irvine and my house is right off of the 261 which is next to the 241. I always speed on this toll road, but I know where they hide and always slow down when I get to these locations. I have hit 120 MPH many times. The 133 is the best place to speed (between 241 and 405 Fwy.

Truth. I'd also say the 261 is a good place to speed .

But at those speeds he is lucky the officer didnt include reckless driving in the citation

You guys think doing 120 is bad... I was only doing mid 80s on a 55 mph highway... the cop( a woman) in a white mustang was pushing on me from the back... this was when I was doing 70 or so liek everyone else... she pulled me over, gave a reckless driving ticket for endangering the lives of others. I had 3 days of community service and $150 fine. I had to go to court 3 times because we wanted to see discovery... she kept stalling and making me pay lawyer fees. So I pled guilty. The lawyer said that if I fight it and loose, up to the judge, it goes on my record as a felony.
Get a lawyer and do what you have to do.

in half and even let me go to traffic school.. my ticket says 105mph..

This attorney has a good reputation. Be prepared to pay for his services. Last I heard it was about $2300. I referred a kid to him that was doing 120+ on the 5. The kid never had to appear and just got a phone call telling him the case was dropped.

ever consider doing a DE day. I've found that i slowed way down on the street since doing varying performance driving events (autox, de's...) You can really get it all out in a place that is safest and have a thrill!

i think everyone here gave you helpful suggestions - get an attorney. I believe you always have the right to a jury trial, which may be an option for you. but go for some driver ed days and learn what your car can do and have fun doing it in a safe way!

They really just need to make the toll roll no speed limit. they state is loosing millions on them due to under use. it is seriously being used like to 5% capacity. Charge double the rate and make it no speed limit...I'll be glad to donate the money.

I agree, but not a "no limit"
situation.

Maybe 90 mph posted so 100 is only 10 over. I'd use that road all the time. Instead I usually just use the 5.
