I use the V-1 as well but people shouldnt get the feeling you are not going to get caught speeding with one.
If the cop is sitting there with the radar off and guns you as you crest the hill, pass by or whatever. Your V-1 will be pinned and you my friend will be caught!

Exactly, and most of the ime cops don't sit there with it on. They wait for the guy flying past everyone and then *BAM* your nailed

Something does not compute, did this happen while you were still a minor?

They could not have charged you with 22348b, since you were below 100. And if it was 23103, they would have needed to book you.

But, it's been so long since I was a minor...

A radar detector is only a part of your protection.

Sure, cops can POP on radar when you drive past- but if they are poping other cars, the V1 can pick up 'twitches' a mile away. If you see a Ka band you really need to slow down until you find the source... or you are 3-4 miles away from the last alert.

In my other car I have a glass sun roof- I sweep the sky for CHP aircraft.

I watch trucks for signals- if they are all running 55, there is a reason.

If you call valentine sometimes they have 'demo returns' for 10% off. Otherwise they are the only source for the valentine unit. You will find that since they do not retail/distribute through secondary websites, there are few head to head comparisons- duh, some of these 'radar advice' websites are nothing more that marketing for them to sell products. I only trust sites that do not sell product- either there or by 'clikc through sales'

23109!?

I knew there was a reason I always let people who appear to want to race go.

I got cited like you for 120 mph in Newporsche Beach. I'm a lawyer and have load of experience beating tickets, on this one I didn't want a fool for a client and I hired the best guy I could find, Sherman Ellison. Someone else already mentioned him.
There was a long write up on RL. My case is on his web site. Eventually we got it dismissed. Well worth it.

I got a similar ticket on the 5 near LA, 100mph+. Get a great lawyer. I paid mine $1500 plus court fees and he had it dismissed. I don't know what he did, but he did it. Let me know if you need a referral.

It's amazing what money can do. Quite sad, but nonetheless - get a Valentine1!

It's paid for itself already, and I've had it maybe two months! Hardwiring it this weekend - just read the manual that comes with it, mount it high up on the windshield, and be careful of 'POP-ON' radar.

That being said, anyone have their V1 fail them yet? Or anyone have theirs paid for LOL?
