GT3 Flywheel?

Is it possible to install this on a 996TT? would it be beneficial? Would it make street drivability terrible?

I got a good deal and wanted to know if this was possible.

Call Kevin at UMW. He has this with a clutch kit, in case you have the desire to add more power.....who doesn't? :-) It is the 964 RS part. Funny how so many of the parts are 964.... I pulled a handbrak out of my 996 and the cable cam was a 964. The block on these cars is 964....there are a bunch of 993 parts as well.

Speaks volumes of the quality of engineering at Porsche ....

We used a 964 flywheel with a Sachs pressure plate, disk, and then porsche hardware (bearings, nuts, blah blah) in a customers 996TT RWD. Flywheel is the dual mass so will work fine and is very streetable. If you need the part numbers, send me an email.

What is the weight savings of the 964 dual mass flywheel vs. 996tt stock dual mass flywheel?

See the weight loss sticky thread.

Clutch/Flywheel Items:
-Stock clutch/pressure plate/disc/flywheel - 46 lbs (Al Norton)
-Clutch Actuator - 40-50 lbs (cjv)
-LWFW and Sachs Pressure PLate - 19 lbs (rwm 514)

So 46-19 is the net savings. I think the actual fw was 9lbs. Call Kevin at UMW for the exact mass. It was shockingly lighter.... He and I discussed things and he felt it might actually take stress off the engine. I like that idea too.

I run the LWFW and it is wonderful. See above. I am incredibly happy with it. So was my mechanic.

TwinT is infamous around these parts
can anyone confirm all items and part numbers for this setup?

Shipping on these items to the UK will be high I think.

I also get a discount from my Porsche dealer.

Thanks
