What happened to the emails?

Well since I can't get a response from Ryan just thought this might get my questioned answered.

It seems after you guys switched servers we lost all email notifications. I actually liked to know when I got a PM or if subscribed to posts I would get a email for replies. I think this feature enhances the flow of traffic and posts seem to get more response from this. Frankly the 996 board is a bit slow...time to move some shifter cart posts to Scheduled events perhaps

Anyway who else misses the emails from the lovely 6speed gods?

I too had the same problem. I just switched my email address and it solved the problem. However, now when I click the links, I keep getting "PAGE CAN NOT BE FOUND".

The server time is also all wrong. All of our posts have the wrong time and some times the wrong date as well.

I think Ryan needs to change the settings because every time we make a post, the server is supposed to send emails to everyone who contributes at the same time when the post appears in the forums. Usually it takes a few seconds if the server is slow.

I have also lost the email notification. I sent Ryan a PM a week after the server switch but never received a response.

I reset my user options and still do not receive email notifications.

Ok, the problem is this...........

The email notifcation itself is not the problem. I shut it off.

The problem is, that there are tons of members with expired or bogus email addresses which lead to "Mail Deliver Failure" when someone responds to a post they made, or when they respond to someone elses post.

I've been getting 100's of "Mail delivery failure" notices daily, and its a pain in the *** to check each one. I just temporarily shut the email function out until I sort this thru.

As far as the server time, I put in a request to get that corrected.

Yep!

Ryan: I remember something like this when I had my vbulletin few years ago. My administrator guy complaint about the same thing and he was able to figure it out. I will ask him how to do it, hopefully this helps.

Thanks Ryan for responding. thats to bad that you had to shut it off, If you had some type of anti spam program like Norton Security or any other you could just tell it to block or delete all of those "undeliverable messages" then nothing to sort thru or worry about. I think the board would benefit from having e-mail responses. Deetz be sure to let Ryan know what the solution was
