yet another 996tt newbie-seeking Power...
I'll add my congrats as well. As far as performance enhancing mods go...I, like others, suggest exhaust, flash and suspension as the first ones (I don't consider the DVs to be a performance enhancing mod). Then some GT3 seats and a 340mm steering wheel. Enjoy what ever you do...

Thanks- I bought it from a private party in tucson- he had bought it from Chapman in 2005.
Question for Statman- 'why don't you consider the diverter a perfromance mod?

The only problem with the stock DVs is the cheap material they are made of...there is a slight chance that the DV could rupture (and materials end up in the turbo). That is the reason for changing them out...PM rather than performance.
Beautiful car! I have the same clor interior, and like it a lot.
I would tend to agree with Tom Kerr. Unless you have already had a lot of experience with high HP cars, the stock version is really an impressive and well balanced machine.

Thanks Everyone- I am really excited about owning this car and discovering it's spirit and equally happy to have found this forum. I mentioned in my original post that my girlfriend bought a 996 Targa 6-speed right after we got back from picking mine up. Very interesting to see and feel how different a car that is as compared to my tt: Her's is absolutely beautiful, nimble, smooth and fast. Much more a daily driver than the turbo in terms of feel and intensity. She is as enthralled with hers as I am with mine- which is great because now we can both ignore each other and spend our time playing with our 996's- without hurt feelings.
Anyway- great to meet you all and I will continue to ask questions and seek your valuable advice and friendship.
David
