Does anyone know how much a stock exhaust with tips weighs? Just curious since i purchased an aftermarket exhaust and want a basis of comparison.

Anyone know what straight pipes WITH cats:
1. cost
2. sound like (with the cats).
On the TJW mod that I am running, I basically have muffler bypass at present, so virtually straight pipes...and I like it. I am wondering if I have the majority of the mufflers lopped off and a pipe welded to the OEM cat....
Anyone?

Don't disrespect the TJW mod until you try it....considering the cost..and it gave torque, power, and sound....see the "modified OEM exhaust thread" and Wooosh's data....
Anyway, I think the OEM cats are at least 200's....basically that is my flow limit. I am not convinved that our peak HP seen by Wooosh is not on the intake side...it is possible that the TJW is as good as one will get given the cats in place. I have 2.5" ovals now...so about full pipe width.....flow is not ideal, but it was priced right.
I ought to pull the intake box off like the German tuners and put a BMC or K&N in....just to see. Anyone do this? Does rain get it? :-)

Dude, your TJW mod isn't as good as its going to get. It has huge amounts of parasitic drag problems in place, along with flow seperation issues(jagged edges from the holes, flow pattern issues with pressure differences between the muffler side and exit side). Get a new exhaust. I had the TJW mod, and you're right, for the money its great, but isn't going to compare to a solid design.
As for the intake, how are you going to mount the MAF?

I hear and agree. :-) I wonder if cat to pipe, say a 100 or 200 cat, would be enough.... do any straight pipes our there also have cats? I need to pass emissions.....
On the intake, they kept the stock box part from filter toward the front of the car...sorry. When I said front, I meant the part you look at when you open the engine compartment, so to speak.
I think the German tuners used zip ties early on to hold the filters in place...anyone is free to correct me. The closest thing to this is the Fabspeed design.
