Anyway, I think the OEM cats are at least 200's....basically that is my flow limit. I am not convinved that our peak HP seen by Wooosh is not on the intake side...it is possible that the TJW is as good as one will get given the cats in place. I have 2.5" ovals now...so about full pipe width.....flow is not ideal, but it was priced right.

I ought to pull the intake box off like the German tuners and put a BMC or K&N in....just to see. Anyone do this? Does rain get it? :-)

JB
run the Fabspeed 100 cell cats and their straight pipes. Cheapest exhaust you can get that will...........give no CEL, pass emissions, least weight, most hp, and sounds bad ***.
did I leave anything out?

OCTurbo is infamous around these parts
I don't think the fabspeed straight pipes with 100 cel cats will pass emissions in CA. I know a few people who have failed ca emissions with more traditional exhaust systems with 100 cel cats. According to some people, you need at least 200 cel cats to definately pass in CA.

Complaining about the poor weight balance of the TT and making a token change is rather misleading. Sure decrease the overall weight but that bias is built into the design and no significant change is going to be had.

not sure who or what you are refering too but no one on this thread including me was "complaining" about the "poor" weight balance of the TT.

They ARE *** heavy. But I agree they are set up and balanced at the factory. If you read or followed this forum more closely you would see that no one just randomly removes weight without considering the overall balance of the car (well most I hope dont). the track cars here are all corner balanced and NOT stock cars.

also check the weight loss thread. first a 50 pound weight loss is hardly a "token" change in a car on the track. Also the rear weight removals done on this forum by the more knowledgeable guys (does not include me) are balanced by front end changes ( light weight battery, carbon hood, bumper delete and spare tire and tool removal)

Dont take this response as "personal" but your post seemed somewhat out of touch with the guys on this forum that spend alot of time balancing their cars and backing it up with TRACK RESULTS AND TIMES

I am always open to suggestions if you may possibly know more than others on this forum as to what we may do better?

thank you

You completely missed the point, which is that the people who care about reducing the weight of the car (and there is no arguement that the weight is detrimental to peak performance), have to also consider making that bias WORSE, which is not engineered into the car.

And besides that there can be a significant change made if you balance the weight reduction, I dont think race teams add balast for their health, they do it to change the balance of the car.

Everybody is right from what I can tell... it is only POV. I think if you know about corner balance, really know...you get it. Probably.

Meanwhile, I think my waistline might losse 20 pounds...cheaper than a Ti exhaust.

:-)

There is a 40 pound difference between stock and Titanium. Is that worth $4500?

Definitely not, but there is possibly a 60+ lb diffference with straight pipes. I will have some, and they wont be that noisy. Straight pipes with cats FTW.

I've heard they sound good, just too loud, and even if they dont, my main focus is weight loss and balance that add up to FASTER, so I'm willing to make that sacrifice for the weight loss.
