Boost problem

It feels like my car is boosting less even though it is indicating the same amount on the display.

I recently had an ECU flash but and the difference was amazing, however my clutch needed replacing.

Now I have a LWFW and clutch fitted and recieved the car back it does not perform the same and it seems not too hold boost like it did before.

it says the boost is there but I can feel it is not.

I have not upgraded the DV's yet.

are the DV's the problem?

Thanks

This issue is covered time and time again.

1) Could be a boost leak...Hose...DV.....Wastegate

2) Could be plugs..

3) ECU going into limp mode

4) Clutch could be slipping

Take the care in and get it checked. With out more info its hard to pin point.

Hi kilrgt,

I have checked the ECU with Durametric and no fault codes. Clutch does not seem to be slipping, it was before the new clutch but not now.

it seems to be boosting in lower gears ok but having problem gaining/holding boost in higher gears.

The dealer replaced some hose clips when the clutch was completed and apparently checked all hoses.

I think I will buy some Bailey DV's and hopefully this will resolve the problem.

thanks

Lee

it might simply be that you are used to the power, it's your body telling you to put in bigger turbos

You max out power on K16s about 1.0-1.1...so anything over that is just too much. You are also at the limit of the stock wastegates....contact Kevin @UMW for hybrid turbo prices.

1.3 is wayyy too much for K16s. You're over-spinning them so have it turned down to 1.1 bar in the program at most.

have just uploaded the more conservative map at 1.2 bar.

took her for a spin and it spikes at 1.2 but I am now regularly seeing 1.0. & 1.1

thanks again, will I have damaged my turbos? I saw a spike of 1.4 in 6th gear

Spikes are just that...there is debate on whether they really mean anything on the stock gage. If you actually are boosting that much surely your car will go into limp to protect itself. As far as the turbos go...you are probably OK.
