boost leak problems

boost leak problems

just performed a turbo to turbo boost leak test.found a hole in a intercooler.repaired and retested.still not holding boost and air seems to be escaping from the air filter right hand side or that area.any ideas please people.am i performing the test correctly ???

It could be your diverter valves not holding and blowing air back into your air box.

It could be your DV or Check Valve 16..

You can pull the air line by the passenger side turbo (intake side) and see if the air is coming from Check Valve 16. You can also take your MAF/Intake off and stick your hand in to see if you can feel air coming around the DV's and back into the intake at that location.

Just to clarify, I think he meant the air line on the inlet of the DRIVER side turbo, hose #19 which is connected to check valve 16. I'm not 100% sure but I think that and the DVs are the only 2 things that tie into your low pressure intake (air box to turbo inlets).

thanks for the replies people.as said i have blocked off from both turbos.Now,if i take the air filter off and block the air intake (i believe it to be 3.5 inch diameter) what would i actually be testing ?.all the system or part of it?
