high idle

A few days ago I accelerated hard and after I parked the car and got back in it, it idled high and threw a CEL. Now, it will idle high and occasionally the idle will go back to normal. The code reader says PO507. Any ideas?

Staff@RPM is infamous around these parts
Hi, i am not at the shop at the moment, ( so i don't have access to the codes) but in the past my 996TT has had similar problems with idle, it turned out to be some vacuum lines that blew off under boost.. Check all lines and listen for hissing..Likewise, on my car the idle went to normal speed with the AC compressor running (added load),, Hope this helps, if still no answer pm me Monday and i will check out the specific code and help you diagnose, TIM

Clear the code and disconnect the battery. May be MAF, might not.

I just had the same problem with the same code, P-0507 as well as code P-0102. The primary problem was with the secondary charging system in the alternator, which was putting out a charge but was to weak. When the radiator fans would come on the RPMs would jump from 750 to 1,200 and sometimes drop below 750. After a new alternator was installed it still ran a little ruff. The MAF was changed out and the engine smoothed out.
