Love my Europipe Stage II Loud, but when in particuliarily aggressive driving moods, O wish I had the Fabspeed Super Sport, or better yet those straight pipes they sell.

Thanks for the replies, I tried thr Ruf system it was nice but too quiet for me but it did have a great howl at wot. Thought about the Europipe but it is very heavy and not as aggressive as I want. Im switching to the Fabspeed supersport and buying my wife a set of earplugs.

Is there a difference between purchasing the Fabspeed exhaust from Fabspeed or Evo except for the price?

Had Fabspeed sport on cab and loved the sound but hated the resonance. Passenger felt same way. Switched to Techart 60mm sport and love the sound with NO resonance. Great howl at WOT.
IMO Fabspeed seems to have more resonance when installed on cab than on coupe.

Our AWE 996TT systems will do the same thing the first few hundred miles.

When the sytems are built, there is dust in the packing, the shop and on the metal used. It will take some time for all of it to finally blow out. It's not the cats.

This is not cause for concern.

Hope this helps!

I am curious to see when the metallic particles go away too.
I have had it on for 2k miles. Someone nearby has had it on their TT for 10k miles and the particles still coat the back of the car after a good cleaning.

I am sorry but any small metallic particles that are left overcutting and fabricating the exhaust should come out the first few minutes you start up the car...and definitely should shoot out after one good romp on the gas pedal. There is some serious air flowing out the exhaust pipes on a 996 TT.

Maybe someone has a solution. My only guess is that these particles are from the catalytic converters which can't be good for them or the long term performance of the cat.

Regarding metallic particles from exhaust system: As I've previously indicated, I have Fabspeed Supersport system. Immediately following its installation by Perfect Power in Chicago, I drove the car approximately 1,000 miles to my home. I did NOT have an inordinate amount of metallic "dust" on the back of my car as a result of the exhaust system. Since that trip, I have had NO residue from the system. When my system was installed, it was cleaned pretty thoroughly. One thing that should be checked is whether the residue is metallic or something else ( oil residue or an extremely rich air/fuel mixture.

On the dozen or so cars I have seen (some with 10k miles since the install) it is the same metallic dust. It's not easy to see though unless your rear bumper is in direct sunlight. Then it looks like you have metallic paint flakes in the paint. I didn't notice it at first, but now that I am aware it is there, I am very careful not to use detailer spray and rub metallic dust on my bumper.

Other than that issue, I am happy with the exhaust for the most part.

I have the Fabspeed sport that I bought used and I have had no problem with metallic particles.
