Who Wants to Try a NEW Turbo???
Any updates? This sounds like a great setup for street.
Questions I have are:
1) Is the softronic tune done specifically for the 16g hybrid, or is a generic file used (eg. 16/24)? Is a specific tune needed for these turbos?
2) Seal mentions earlier in this thread that the airflow is similar to the K24 hybrid but the setup is more efficient (runs cooler) and it develops similar power. There was another post by Kevin asking what the weight of the sleeved wheel 16g to do a comparison with the K24, I assume implying that the 16g would weigh more so would be more laggy.
So does this setup spool faster than the 16/24 turbo?
3) Dyno graph would be good (esp. compared to a similar setup 16/24)
4) Real life feedback. Subjective comparison to the stock 16 setup and the 16/24 especially lag and throttle response.
5) Dan mentioned that this kit would be good to about 600hp, and that the stock fuel system is OK. Any other mods needed to reach this power with these turbos (eg. intakes are a must, upgrade IC).

We have the ability with Softronic to custom tune and create a custom tune map for that car and that turbo setup. Customer will need to be on a dyno.
When I have our test done here locally, I will post the dyno results to compare. Not sure what type of dyno and parts another 16/24 car has, but the variables would have to be the exact same to even compare.
The turbos components are capable to that HP. I did a K24/18G car here on our dyno was basically 600HP. It will probably make less power then that as a reality. Stock fueling is ok, IC's are good, exhaust, intake, diverter valves are all good too.

HP numbers are all very relative. Much of it depends on what dyno the runs were made on, etc. Dan's and EPL's dynos are mustangs which traditionally read lower than most others. When my car is done (soon hopefully), I will post figures, but more telling than the actual numbers will be how those numbers compare to other cars that have been run on that same dyno under similar weather conditions and what kind of % increase I see over a baseline.
At the EPL dyno day, there were two Proto 600 K24/18g cars (one on race gas, one on 93); a K16/K24 car with headers, intake & exhaust; a K16 car with an exhaust; and a K16 car with a flash, intake and exhaust. I also know what my car made bone stock and chipped on that same dyno.

I'm curious to see where I will stack up. Especially considering I'm still running the stock exhaust
.
P.S. If anyone knows where I can get a used Milltek cheap, give me a call

Sounds good guys. This setup should be perfect for a strong street setup without going crazy on the power, especially as it should not be too expensive if most stock parts can stay.
The shape of the dyno results (which usually don't vary by dyno / dyno) is just as important as the HP/TQ numbers.

I would actually disagree with that as well. Inertia based dynos vs. resistance dynos can show very different results in terms of power curves. IMHO, nothing beats the accuracy of a Mustang for AWD cars.
Trust me... 530 crank hp will be no problem for these turbos... stay tuned.
cant wait for your numbers!
dont forget that more then likely all those gt r's will be modded in no time. you gonna need some ones full kit to keep up. a flash wont cut it maybe for a stock one but lets face it who leaves a gtr stock.
GTR's are not easy to mod... They are truly a new breed. Yeah you can do a bolt on exhaust, intake... but that factory ECU is so advanced. I was told it knows when you are track racing????
