Who Wants to Try a NEW Turbo???
Who Wants to Try a NEW Turbo???
Well, people are doing the K24/18G, why not do a K16/16G. Alot of us have the K16 turbos and like the quick spool. Not looking to break speed records, there is way to squeeze alittle more power from the K16's to pass their stock efficiency. The factory wheel moves about 30lbs/min. With the 16G setup, you will see a gain of about 10lbs/min. Basically saying, the stock K16 turbos are good (based on turbo parts) for 600 crank. Of course based on dyno's boost, fuel, etc I would say at a 20% drivetrain loss that it is more like 540 crank horsepower. This upgrade would increase the power out put by (again based on turbo parts) about 60-80 crank horsepower.
So maintaining quick spool, you will see a large increase in mid to top end horsepower. By running the same amount of boost you do now (1.0-1.1 on K16 cars) you will make more power since you are moving more volume of air. This upgrade does not require more fueling such as pumps or FPR.
So what am I saying..... Who wants them? I took these out of my own car which was at 30K. Obviously the turbos have been rebuilt and upgraded so they are like new minus the dirt. I want to find someone interested in doing the install and test with reviews. We can handle the tuning side of it via Softronic. We will send you the flash cable and give you a discounted rate on the tuning (unless in AZ we will do it for free).
The upgrade MOD will cost normal users $995. Normal tuning is $1995 including keeping the stock map, a flash cable, and a race file.
If you are interested in participating, let me know!

Hm... Can you pm me the final cost for everything? Maybe i can have you guys put on GMG's WC-GT system too. Darn, if only the car was still in SD. You guys are only like 5 hours from SD.

Dan, if i can figure out a way to get my car there (i know someone in the shipping industry) i'll let you know asap! By the way, how much will the new 16g wheel shorten the life span of these turbos?
I am taking a week off around VDay, fly me up their and I can hang out in the city then drive back with the car. I will do all the work and schedule a truck to ship it to SD or SF. I dont think you will be shortening the life at all.
Hm... That's quite the enticing offer. I'll keep you posted! Thanks Dan!
