More clarifying questions about the K16/16G, if I may
- Are you stuck with a 1.0 bar tune? As the 16G is even more efficient than the K16/24, can the tune be setup for 1.1 bar or even 1.2 bar?
The question about the upgraded wastegate spring was not answered fully. It seems a better wastegate spring would be a benefit, what does it do as the boost is controlled by the ECU?
Also it was mentioned earlier that an upgraded spring will reduce turbo life, why would that be if the turbo is operating under its efficiency curve?
Thanks!

Yes you can... you can completely. External wastegates setup properly with a Profec B and right tuning will get you an easy 40 extra ft/lbs. I have proven that on stock K16's. By passing the exhaust when the wastegate opens it makes a huge difference.
fgaillard - if you want K24/18G or a promo deal on our 650 kit to show Dubai how it is done, PM me.

deandob - the aftermarket wastegates allow you to up the boost. The stiffer the spring determines when the wastegate will open. In the Tial wastegates for example, we run a .8bar spring. This means that at .8 bar they open. So we will make .8bar of boost. Now without doing a boost controller, we could get the addition springs to make it 1.0bar. That means the car will make 1.0bar of boost. But with the boost controller, you can control the boost. So if I have .8bar wastegate springs and set my profect to 1.2 bar, I am making 1.2 bar... very straight forward.
On the K16/16G or even the K24/18G, you can run the stock wastegate, then run a boost controller and set it to the boost you want to run. Race gas, run 1.3. Pump gas, be safe and run 1.0bar. You are moving more air so you can make more power with the same boost.
