Tim,

Can you post or send me pics of your E55 with the HRE 547R's? I want the pic so that I can photoshop the wheels on my Z8. I am looking for wheels and am undecided. Thanks

Lou

Did you see my post above about the 60-100 acceleration times for both cars? If the E55 is making up the time post launch in the quarter mile, why is the Turbo faster 60-100 and 0-150? In both cases the E55 should be faster than the Turbo if we follow your line of reasoning.

Shank, your gonna pay for that one Everybody knows you get a free pass on modding before the car is broken in. Even though I am starting early.

Since this post was originally made about an E55 beating a Gallardo, using the logic that the E55 can walk the Turbo, then it makes sense that the E55 can beat the Gallardo every time as well. Every test Ive seen for the Gallardo has been neck in neck with a turbo.

Just checked R&T for the hell of it...

The MB has the slowest 0-60 time by two tenths and yet matches the 911TT (with a higher trap speed) and is a tenth slower than the Gallardo. Let's not beat a dead horse...I can only go by what I personally experienced. In both cases I was able to pull both cars in my E55. I don't know what tranny the p car had. I know without a doubt that the Lambo was an eGear. Shank also knows that a chipped RS6 will make a lot more HP than a stock E55. The same way a chipped 996TT will make a lot more HP than a X50 car. Let's put this to rest. I have mods to do.

CarandDriver also supports the E55 faster at speed with even a bigger gap being closed. Makes sense that a car with 469HP (which is probably much closer to 500HP based on dyno tests) and with a .27 Cd would more than make up for the 500-600 lb difference at speed. I've enjoyed this thread, but I am done here (for real).

Hey Lou, perhaps we should film Jennings' E55 vs. My Red Turbo.
I'm in.

E55 is quicker from a roll than a stock 996TT. Some of you are in denial. Stock 996tt is not very quick.

and it's pretty sad that a slow stock 996tt can easily beat a Diablo GT around the Ring.

Funny how people compare the best 1/4 mi. time attained by the E55 (12.4) in magazines to the worst times posted by the 911 TT (12.4), then say they are equal. If you look at the best time ever ripped off by the 911 TT it was in the Nov. 2001 MT with an 11.92, vs. the best of the E55 12.4 and it is not the close again. If you want to magazine race, at least compare them equally.
