Magazine Recommendations

Wasn't really sure of the appropriate place for this thread, but since I'm interested in getting a 996 TT in the next year, I thought I'd start here. Mods, please feel to move this to a more appropriate location.

So with that disclaimer, here's my question. I currently get the standard bunch of car mags--Car & Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, but I'm finding I'm skipping or glossing over more and more of the content.

Can you recommend some good automotive magazines, particularly ones with good Porsche content (more current than historical)?

Thanks.

Modified luxury and exotic used to be good, but they have fallen off in quality and maybe publication in the whole. For a while though it was unbelieveable, I'd read it front to back.

Thanks! I'll stop by a bookstore and pick all these up for the next few months and then pick a couple.

While the tech stuff in Panorama is helpful, the classifieds are downright -- and, if you let them, will keep you (willfully) oblivious that your car is quietly depreciating as you read. Every Pano seller thinks that their rig is depreciation-proof, the "best/best optioned/rarest/cleanest available," that the chrome oval tips or stainless door sills they got from Gert magically add a few grand at resale. Amusing.

I'd say Excellence and then Classic and Sports Car -- only because it's the best written mag, next comes Car or Evo.

i am in the industry and have worked on many cars that have been covered in most of the magazines listed. Excellence was the only one that tells it how it is, they dont make things up or exaggerate things for the sake of the article!!

Just my 2 cents

It's not a P-car magazine, but Grassroots Motorsports is by far, IMHO, the BEST car magazine published. It's not for waxers or weekend-only drivers, it's for people who drive their cars and (GASP) do some wrenching, too.
Be good,
TomK
