wtb 996 gt2
Y65MPH you are so negative, why does every GT2 that is 85K going to have some stories? Why do the brakes have to be smoked? The guy wants to find a good car and he will if he takes his time and does his homework, but I don't think that it is out of the question to find a nice car in between $85K and $95K depending on miles and year model. The GT2's have taken a hit because most people don't like that they don't have the creature comforts of the Turbo.

Negative? I am one of many on this thread who said a $85K GT2 would have issues. Maybe you consider the repainted GT2 at Chicago Motorcars for $87K issue free. If you read his first post you will see his budget is $85,000 not $95,000. I already said in two posts that you could find a really nice GT2 for 10K more than his budget. Being a GT2 owner, I always look at the rotors on the cars that come up for sale. Most of them have issues. If this guy can only spend 85K than another 15K plus just for rotors is not in the budget. Who buys a GT2 for creature comforts? Is that why you sold yours, did you want a sunroof and a subwoofer? If you haven't checked lately all 996 series vechiles have taken a big hit.
A clean GT2 with no stories for 85K and low miles? Best of luck to you.
More and more GT2s are starting to get into the right hands, of true enthusiasts who plan to keep the car. This is what's going to stabilize the market.
Wait til the new car comes out for 50K over, this will make 996 GT2s seem like the bargain of a century.
As far as resale, it's all a personal thing. I consider my depreciation money well spent for years with an amazing car. You get what you pay for in life.

By the way, there were only 24 GT2's built in 2004.
i think my budget and game plan to get in one of these has just changed...
i am looking for a clean 2003 and want to spend no more than 93k
y65mph if you got any leads pm me..

95K for a pristine '04?
You are living on a different planet. Trade in value from a dealer would be much higher than that. You're probably 25-35K off.
Big price jump from 03 to 04 and 04 to 05...

Hell, pristine no story 02's are still going for 100k on up with low miles! Like I said, you are seeing the BS and that's why it's priced "right"!

Give me 85K and your younger sister (and she better be smokin hot) has to clean my house, service my depraved sexual fantasies daily, and not utter a word to my wife for the next 10 years, and you can have my GT2. Paulie Walnuts will give you his GT2 if you will work for free 40 hours per week at his carwash for the next 20 years. Can you speak Spanish?
Or, you could put the crack pipe down and have more realistic expectations.
Wait a minute, you must be a Troll...I give your Troll job a 7.8 for getting 3 pages of responses.
