I was really suprised at the improved handling characteristics of the car by simply adding 20mm spacers in the rear. In addition, the car overall just looks meaner, I miss the steamroller look of the older models!! The next thing I need to do is lower it, as it is at 26.5" right now, due to my steep driveway issue onto the street.

And remember, when adding spacers always check the lug-torque after a short drive, the longer wheel bolts may stretch, thereby losing pre-load. It will sound like your wheel bearings are going bad....don't ask me how I know

 

I think it looks great, but you sure are brave adding the 20mm. I've got 15mm from Ruf.

Your front looks wider also, did you add spacers up there as well?

 

Yup....7mm in the front.

 

Looks great. I have factory spacers on mine that came with the Sport Techno wheels.

will i have any handling issues ?
i was told putting spacers on porsche is a bad idea.. esp considering that my car has some negative camber and i have i-forged wheels..

No rubbing. Stock tires and wheels. Car looks amazing with this setup.

Stock wheels can run 15mm front and rear, even if lowered. You can run even bigger in the rear if you roll the fenders (very easy with a 3lb mallet with the striking end covered in a few layers of masking tape).

you need longer wheel bolts if you get spacers. Stock are 45mm + add for spacer size. I found that 60mm bolts work with 7 and 15mm spacers.

I have become the biggest fan of spacers since the putting them on my TT. Even run 25mm spacers all around on my Acura TL.

 

Does adding spacers affect the handling?

 

I have never seen so many people add spacers as Porsche car owners.

Spacers may make your car look better but I think there is a ligitimate argument that spacers are not good for performance driving.

I was always told to get correct offsets and to never use spacers.

Most custom wheel manufacturers can make any offset you want. Why not just get the offset another +7 or +15?

If your car takes a +40 offset in the front why not just order wheels with a +33 instead of adding a 7mm spacer?
