magnum ,i have the k24/18 setup and the car is a monster . pulls hard and has gobs of torque , i have ported adn polished stock headers and i have them swain coated , i dont think i have much lag at all..

if theres anything u want to know , ask away.

It all comes down to budget and goals. If you want 700hp, go with the 24/18g but be prepared to pay about $12k+ (turbos $3k, software $3k+, fueling - at least $6k).
If you want 600hp, go with K16/16g. Nothing will spool faster than a K16/16g and you can do the whole upgrade (compressor upgrade w/ wastegates, 5bar fpr and tune) for less than what just the software will cost for the K24/18g.

You said you're more concerned with low end and mid range grunt than top end, so it's your call.

Here is a 18g dyno with the full set up.... not too shabby I must say....
You get what you pay for. The nice thing about the 18gs is that you can always expand.
The 16gs are a nice set up though....
