what SHOULD my hp/torque be ?
what SHOULD my hp/torque be ?
i havent had a chance to dyno my car because of the weather, and a few things came up.
anyway, im getting different answers from different people
some people are telling me i should have 550hp... other are telling me 630...
where SHOULD i be (both crank, and RWHP)
k24 w/ gt2 intercoolers.
UMW software
fabspeed gen 2 exhaust w/ 200 cell cats
BMC air filter
5 bar FPR
car see's 1.1 bar of boost occasionally, otherwise, it holds 1.0 bar
i thought this was a 600hp configuration ???

Let me know when you want to dyno it... I would love to see what this makes. I just tuned a similar car in AWD. Ill email the customer to see if he'll let me post his numbers.
ok
im just very curious, because there are guys on here with k16s making stupid HP, but then i dont see any guys with k24s making high #s
didnt martins car make 516RWHP ?
and the guy with apr software that raced a z06 had 560 rwtq..
what gives ?
i thought the k24s were a bigger/better turbo..

my goal is to have both RWHP and RWTQ @ 500 ..
im waiting for my 93 octane file to come in from kevin, and then ill dyno it..
i just wish i knew how k16s are getting the same power at the wheels though .. .
just doesnt make sense to me..
i almost regret getting a car with k24s... as theyre laggier than k16s.. and appear to put down the same power..

I'd say you are probably around 550 crank. Since you are only seeing 1.0 bar consistently, you won't be at 600 crank. You should put some wastegates with stiffer springs on, then you will hold 1.2 bar and be closer to 600.

steve. you should be around 600 hp at crank max on pump gas at around 1.2 bar. trust me there is no way that a k24 will give out less or equal power than a k16 (assuming similar other mods, and same dyno). the guys that had great 1/4 mile times with k16 cars are EXCELLENT and experienced drivers at the track.
the main difference between the k16's and k24 is uptop.
my k16's would feel like crap on the hwy at 80ish... up top they would run out of steam.
k24 hybrids i have now pull super strong uptop.
-make sure you get the wastegate upgrades for the k24's you have. i heard many people say that this is imperative if you want to maximize power.

Couldn't agree more with Jordan. The other thing that I would add is that different types of dynos read VERY differently. I only pay attention to dyno numbers when I have either (i) a frame of reference of what other cars do on that dyno or (ii) know what numbers the car pulled stock on that dyno.
For example, the recent post by Mike @ USP notes that his car made 390 HP bone stock. A well running stock K16 car only makes 330 or so on a mustang dyno. Now, that does not invalidate his numbers, but it is clear that the number at the wheels is higher than those of us who dyno on a mustang.
You can compare apples, to apples, but you just need to do a little work:
He ended up at 494hp on K16s at 15.7psi (~1.1bar) with race gas and RWD. Using his stock run as a baseline, you solve for his current crank power assuming his stock car made 416hp (as factory claims).
You get 390/416 = 494/X. Solve for X and you get about 527 hp. Which is VERY strong for K16s. But not the 600 crank that a well tuned K24 car can put out.

If you are only seeing 1.0 bar, you should tighten your wastegates a couple turns and you will be seeing 1.2 bar and definitely gain some power.
520 hp crank.
send the k24's to protomotive and get the hybrids. huge difference for small amount of $ if you are not currently happy. that way you DO get the most out of the k24's and GT2 IC's.
