Anyone 'read' their old spark plugs

I just changed my spark plugs and they don't look as clean as I would have expected. Not really sure how many miles are on them. Anyone have a pics of their plugs?

Mine were pretty banged up. The grounds were worn down, and they were pretty corroded. Don't have any pics, but glad I changed them out when I did.

I used Denso Double platinum PK20PR-P8 based on reading those threads .
Not sure how they will do. I got them from sparkplugs.com ~$7 ea.

Hi, When you read a spark plug you are seeing the last few cycles of the motor. I know that I let my turbo sit at idle for at least 1 min. to cool down the turbos. Best bet is to run and air/fuel meter to see what is going on.

i'd use what's porsche recommends. using more expensive plugs with rare metal can degrades the amt of spark if car isn't designed for it.

Good point, but some of the 'history' remains on the plug. Agree with the A/F sensor reading.

I hope you don't mind me digging up an old thread.

Driver's side:

Passenger's side:

From my limited knowledge, the engine is running a bit rich, no?
And what's up with the oil in the middle plug on the passenger's side?

As RPM said above.... If you are really trying to "read" plugs, it needs to be done on a few cycles of hard driving, on new (yes, brand new) plugs.

Basically - do a few dyno pulls, pull plugs and look at them with a jewelers eye glass or even microscope.

There very little good info that will come from trying to read plugs with 20k+ on them.
